Good video, Pam. I do miss Pontiac, they built some great cars when GM management would let them.
Pontiac in the 1960s had it all. Certainly the best value within GM. But in the '80s, they changed for the worse, particularly the interiors. For years, they had those shapeless gray knobs on the instrument panels. Everytime I'd see them, I could just picture Eddie Murphy saying, "I am Gumby, damnit!"
My all-time favorite car 69 GTO judge And would take it in any color But I do own a 69 GTO in liberty blue that I am slowly restoring
Beautiful car, very nice owner. I prefer the 84 Continental bustle back that I had in California though.
Gevalt! 😮. Devin has some unusual tastes. Nice guy, though.
Touching story about the Hurst Olds. That was indeed a mitzvot, even for this lapsed Presbyterian.
They should do a joint event- the Monte Carlos should do a program with Dodge Monacos
Elvis had one.
Wow I wish I can see what you did ,I live in Canada
Great video Pam. Love these Caddy wagons.
Dont like the Caddy station wagon... it looks like a Herse.
Interesting turn of events - someone handed YOU a flyer!
well how about wunderbar or ausgezeichnet or good old sehr toll?...nevermind
Danka!!!! 😉😀
No , the first chevys are 60 , 61 , 62 and 64.
Didn't I correct that in the video??
Young person's comment: "what's a CB Radio?" Are we the last generation to know what that is?
Just thing, before the '70's, most people had no clue, either!!
Just think, before the '70's, most people had no clue, either!
Oh, my. Many years ago, I was dating this lady who was recently divorced from a policeman. One day he must have taken down my license plate when he returned their daughters following weekend visitation. For weeks afterward, another cop in a Grand National would stop and ticket me when he could, and harass me when there was no basis for a ticket. My boss happened to be friends with the Chief of Police, and had me report it to him. Never saw Officer Grand National again!
Some cops can be, shall we say, a bit of an............ Glad it worked out in the end.
Very nice. I love that 67 Sport Wagon.
That was a nice example, Daniel !! They were just the right size. To bad they don't build any wagons for the US ... or even a sedan!!!!
Beautiful Nomad. Great 50’s colors.
It is truly iconic!!
Be interesting to see if this guy would be willing to build for customers. Looks incredible!
Agreed!!! Could you imagine it this could be made into a kit?
We had a 1960 Chevy. Never in the shop. 283, with Powerglide. Bullet-proof.
The 283 was overbuilt and simple, as was the Powerglide. This is why they were offered for over a decade!!
@@carshowreporter "Slip and slide with Powerglide."
Powerslide....... 😄
That green Impala is an interesting car to see. A lot of work and money has gone into it. How do those rubber band tires cope with road irregularities like painted crosswalks?
Tyrone has extra padding in the seat squabs!!!! Watch out for those cicadas!!
I'm loving these videos! Thank you for posting! Again, I appreciate how all the cars are grouped togethet by year. It really makes it a joy to see them....and thanks to your videos, I'm able to do it from California!
Thank You Greg!!!! You are More than welcome!! The power of the net allows us to share each other's unique shows and cars. Please explore my channel for more, interesting, cars and shows. Please stay safe from fires and floods!!
Love to own this!
Well, there are 6 others out there..... 😉😄
@@carshowreporter Something tells me this is the only survivor, I would not be surprised.
No, Chris knows of others!!!!!
My first car was a 1964 black over red interior Corvair Monza. Except for needing a repaint it was in good condition.I paid $200.00 for it in 1974. I got my license in 1975. My dad put a nice paint job on the car and I drove it for a couple years and I sold it for $1000.00. Only negative was the oil seals on the pushrod tubes made the interior smell like burning oil whenever i used the heater. Once that was taken care of it was a fun little car for me until it was time for me to move up. I found a 1 owner 1966 Galaxie same color and year as Jay Leno's with a 390 4 barrel and heavy duty C6 transmission. While the interior was same color as his mine wasn't near as fancy. I was surprised how quick it was for a big old full size Ford!
Great memories, R.C. Thanks for sharing!!!!
I'm looking for an original GTI - in Deep South USA.
Keep an eye on the online classifieds like Hemmings as well as the local market places.
Bro i want one 😭
We wanted them since we were young!!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! I wish I could have been there! I really like how they group the cars together by year. Makes savoring them all the better!
It was a good show, Greg. Plan to attend next year! I agree with you on the classes, too. The 4 Eldo Biarritz was truly over the top! Check out the next video: ua-cam.com/video/xqBWQH6oTwA/v-deo.html
I just had a funny thought of imagining the Dubai Police, with the money they have now, back in the 50s driving these. ;-D I believe my moms Cadillac was a series 62?
What a great thought, TaimKA!! I could picture them cruisin' the desert!! Do you have a favorite memory of your Mom's Cadillac?
@@carshowreporter We called her, "Old Faithfull" because the windshield washer would go off for no reason, like at Yellowstone. Other than that it was a reliable car I believe? ;-)
@@TairnKA What a weird and hilarious gremlin!!
Great video and thanks for not adding any goofy music to it
So, you don't like that background music either, Will !!! Thanks!!
@@carshowreporter yes sir I would rather hear the car or the atmosphere of the event
To bad we can not convey the smells, too!!!
The 58 and 59 Cadillac had the gas cap behind the tail light for sure !! Not sure about the others
The '58 had the filler cap behind the left taillight, the '59 had it hidden behind a panel in the center of the trim just below the trunk lid. Cadi hid the filler behind the lights for the first time in '49 . Thanks for bringing this bit of trivia up, Brent.
The corvaires were always one of my favorites
Do you have a particular favorite, David??
Not only did that 60 Corvair have back up lights, but it had two additional taillights grafted on.
J.C.Whitney had a sale!!! 😉😄
Ha ha. Somebody actually did a cut and splice from another rear panel. Looks like they did good work too!@@carshowreporter
The original owner of my grandfather's 1958 DeSoto Firedome traded it for a 1961 Corvair.
What an interesting trade!! Just the gas savings probably paid for the Corvair!!!
@@carshowreporter Bev was an interesting guy. My grandfather was hired by Bev's dad in 1921, and worked for that company until 1967. When Granddaddy died in 1989, Bev sent a memorial gift of $10,000 to Granddaddy's favorite charity. They were friends for life.
What was the company and your Grandfather's occupation?
@@carshowreporter The company was C.S. Hutter, and my grandfather was Yard Foreman. C.S. Hutter was a descendant of Thomas Jefferson's wife's family, and owned Jefferson's summer estate, which he sold shortly before he died in 1947. LOTS of money.
So many nice cars! Thanks for showing them to us, Pam.
Glad you enjoyed it, Daniel! This is a really, fun show!! Like you said, lots of fine rides!!!
Now $8000 Virginia Facebook marketplace same car
It is a hard car to live with, but the work is well worth the $8,000!!
Always a pleasure Pam.
Thank you Mickey!!! Sometimes I do not know if these general show walk around videos are appreciated.
Exelente 🎉🎉🎉
Mucho Gracias Gabriel !!
A green Camaro with green stripes, I am in love! Now you know that I knew that green Buick was a 40. That 69 Mustang Mach l was a real beauty too. Thanks for the show, Pam.
A green Camaro with green stripes, I am in love! Now you know that I knew that green Buick was a 40. That 69 Mustang Mach l was a real beauty too. Thanks for the show, Pam.
You are MORE than welcome, Daniel!!!!
I like that dolled up 50 Ford Custom sedan, and the T-Bird, but my favorite is the red Avanti in the background.
That is an Avanti II and it has been in a number of videos. That little Ford was a sweet ride. It was the first time I have seen it. The retro Bird had great lines ... $40k range when new, well ..... Today they are still appreciated.
I agree with you about the 1958 Chevy. It's really ironic that the bottom of GM's lineup is the only one that doesn't look ridiculous today. The Pontiac isn't bad, but the Cadillac, Buick, and Olds models that year are absolute excrescences!
The molten chrome flowed up market.....
Arguably the best place for brushed stainless steel is on the roof of a car...and it shines here, away from maniac supermarket door openers, thrown steel balls, refrigerators and rocket ships. As a footnote no doubt it's a good thing that the ''The Reverse Dagmar'' never made it into the urban dictionary.
The stainless roof is perfect to communicated with the mother ship .... Well, the dagmar was compared to Jane Mansfield, would the " reverse dagmar " be compared to Twiggy?
Hooray! I haven't seen one of your videos in a while, although I am subscribed. Your video of a Cadillac car-meet depicts some of my favorite cars of all time. I particularly loved the 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood which had a feature unique to Cadillac in the sixties, that I have always loved: Power rear vent windows!
Welcome " back ", Parkependleton!! Ahhh, the years before standard air conditioning!!! Those vent windows really worked well, especially when equipped with rear ones.
I previously owned a 1940 LaSalle 50 coupe, wish I still had it, beautiful cat.
Nice!! The one which got away... How long ago did you have your LaSalle?
very nice Pam, I'm surprised no right side mirror 👍
Luxury was the name of the game, not safety. Anyhow, one should always yield to an Eldorado Brougham!! 😉😄
Well of course it has magnetized tumblers on the glove box door. That is so Momma can make cocktails to serve to Daddy, who is driving, and to the kiddies in the back seat!
Captain Morgan is a great babysitter!!
I remember Granma rubbing whiskey on my cousin's gums when he was teething. She kept it around for medicinal reasons only, and fruit cake at Christmas. @@carshowreporter
The only time I saw an Eldo Brougham in a movie was "Driving Miss Daisy," when it was driven by Dan Ackroyd. If memory serves me right, the styling was largely the work of Ed Glowacke, a very talented man who died quite young of leukemia.
Unfortunately, many of the good die young. Another reason to watch " Driving Miss Daisy " again!!! Thanks Tom!!
@@carshowreporter The scene where the car appears is where Boolie goes over to see his mother and Hoke off on their trip to Mobile. "Goodbye! Good luck! .... Good God." To me, the most impressive line in the movie occurred when Miss Daisy was trying to get rid of Hoke, by telling Boolie she want "help" hanging around the house. Boolie answered with, "You've got Idella.". And Miss Daisy answered, "Idella's different. She's been COMING TO ME since you were in 8th grade..." That hit me right between the eyes, because that's the precise phrase Southern white people used to describe the employment of black help. The South has always been strange, but it used to be more genteel.
Love this era of Cadillac. Our wedding car in '93 was a mint unrestored '62 Sedan deVille 4 door hardtop. Ran and rode beautifully and still smelled like a new car. White with red leather interior.
They had a grace all to themselves! I hope a '62 finds it way into your garage!
The caddy station wagon is differently the most rare caddy in the bunch. That one you never see one on the street, because they are almost non existent.
With only 2 produced, it would be a very rare treat to have seen one one the road! There were 4, different wagons at the show! yes, I videoed them all.
are the 59 -60 flat top roofs the same as on chevys
Great question BigBishop!! I had to google it and this was the best article I found: www.macsmotorcitygarage.com/the-flat-tops-gms-1959-60-flying-wing-hardtops/
